I hate to be cynical, but it would be an act of schadenfreude if much of south coastal Tex-ass were permanently flooded by rising tides and these almost annual climate-change-rains. Then that whole section of the Lone Star -- Brownsville, Galveston, Corpus Christi, Houston, Port Arthur, Beaumont, San Antonio (including the Alamo) -- could become part of the "Gulf of America."
